Happy first birthday sweet little man! It was such a pleasure to see this Somerville family again for baby H’s one year old photos. I was going to try to link to a post with his newborn photos (I absolutely loved his session!) but apparently that blog post never happened! Keeping up with blog posts sometimes feels like a full time job. But I gotta be honest, I love being able to share these sessions. The world needs more cute babies and adorable photos to look at, amiright?!
In general, I like to start first year portrait sessions off with family portraits, if that is what the family is looking for (and why not?) as well as portraits of just baby. What a monumental time in the baby’s life. One whole year has passed since birth and milestone after milestone has been crushed along the way. Below is a photo of baby H standing. Until you witness a tiny human work so hard just to be able to stand steady on two feet, the act is something you may take for granted.
Once we capture a few different looks we move on to the cake smash! This family opted to create their own cake and did a marvelous job. As evidenced by H’s nom, nom, noming!
