Miss A’s Pink and Gold Cake Smash :: Reading MA Family Photographer
This sweet family came to my studio from nearby Reading MA for family photos and, more importantly, to celebrate their baby girl’s first birthday! First birthday’s are an important milestone in a baby’s life. And I love being able to capture the excitement of it all! The cake smash might be the fun (and messy) part of the session, but I always make sure to get some portraits of the birthday girl before that. For Miss A that meant a blue tutu and a pretend whimsical bonfire. And, of course, some family portraits for posterity.

About This Reading MA Family Photo Session and Cake Smash
Pink and gold is a fun color scheme for a cake smash, and one of my favorites. For Miss A, we got a majority of the color scheme from two of my favorite cake smash props: balloons and tutus! I love the difference between the darker background in the first set of photos, with the bright white backdrop in the cake smash. Variety is always a good idea.
This session was a cake smash, but it wasn’t only a cake smash! We made sure that we got plenty of family portraits, too. I love the photo of Miss A holding her mama’s and daddy’s hands. This is one of my go-to shots for toddlers. It’s such a sweet memento. It’s also a great portrait for parents who don’t always love how they look in photos!
Miss A is super stylish and adorable in all of her outfit changes. For timeless and beautiful kids clothing, I recommend Hope and Henry or Gap!

For clients who are interested in either framed artwork or gallery wrapped canvases for wall art, I’m here to help as much as I can. This even means showing you how your artwork will look on your walls by making a custom wall art mock-up. I use a photo of your walls and digitally add your portraits as canvases or framed art. This way you can envision your artwork in your space. This is especially helpful for figuring out what size works best in your space. Below is an example using artwork from this session.
