North Shore Newborn Photographer :: Baby T

It’s not always easy to have a baby. It seems like it should be pretty simple, right? Well not always. This I know personally as it was not easy for us and there was quite a bit of heartache involved. All’s well that ends well though and we ended up with our two beautiful girls. But it’s not something that is easily forgotten – the heartache. This mama contacted me while she was on the hunt for a North Shore newborn photographer. And she told me her story, that she had been given a less than 5% chance of getting pregnant, WITH the assistance of IVF. So when they got pregnant on their own, well, they had a miracle baby on their hands. Naturally they were ecstatic over the news and wanted to capture baby girl’s first big milestones with professional photography. I am humbled and honored that they chose me 🙂

Needless to say, I was really looking forward to meeting this family. They were fantastic to work with for not only baby T’s newborn portraits, but her 3 month photos and her 8 month sitter session.

About this North Shore Newborn Photo Session

For Miss T’s newborn session, I started off with some family portraits. In general, I do this with most sessions. It helps put parents at ease to have their portion completed. And then they can relax. Yes, relax! This isn’t always easy with a newborn but my goal is for you to have a relaxing experience during your session with me.

For the styling, the whole family was clad in black tops, which makes for cohesive family portraits. I really love this for newborn portraits as the baby pops and it’s all about the baby for this milestone.

For the rest of the session, the color scheme was primarily neutral colors. I used mainly white, with some dark gray and subtle pops of color throughout. The light pink swaddle worked perfectly against the dark gray, creating both a contrast in color and also in texture. The same is true of the brighter pink bonnet against the white fur. Texture is such a good way to create depth and variety.

Mama also had some specific color requests to match the baby’s nursery. There were also some hand made items to incorporate including the teal blanket below.

Welcome to the world miracle baby T!

What Mom is Saying

We were told that we had less than a 5% chance of getting pregnant with IVF… in medical terminology, that’s like saying we had zero chance. So, when we found out that we had gotten pregnant on our own, our baby girl was our little miracle. When it came to choosing a photographer to capture sweet memories of our little one, we wanted the best. They grow and change so quickly, there’s only a brief window of opportunity to freeze these early moments. There’s no chance of “do overs”. After looking at countless photographers’ websites and galleries, I continued to be drawn back to Kate’s work. And after reaching out to her, I knew we could trust her with the important job of preserving early memories of our little miracle.

Kate’s bubbly, high energy personality puts you right at ease, and she was so sweet and patient with our baby girl. She works with you ahead of time to understand your style and what you want in terms of props, colors, etc. so that everything is thought through and planned, making picture day as smooth as it possibly can be with a newborn! But, she’s also willing and able to adjust on the fly, accommodating all of our last minute requests. And, she has some pretty awesome first year packages available. If you too are looking for the best to capture your little miracle, look no further than Kate!!! — Miss T’s mama. Click here to see more client testimonials

Creating A Wall Gallery At Home

Do you love the idea of using the photos from your North Shore newborn photo session as wall art? But are you just not sure what size works best in your home, or which photo to choose? Let me help! I can create a custom digital wall art mock-up using a photo of your wall. Just tape a piece of printer paper on the wall so I can get a good idea of the dimensions, email it to me, and I can do the rest. Whether you’re interested in just one canvas, or a gallery of framed artwork, or any other option. This can be especially helpful when creating a wall gallery. No more guessing what photos will look like together, or what sizes to get.
