North Shore MA Newborn Photos :: Baby B

North Shore MA Newborn Photos :: Baby B

Before I say anything else about this North Shore newborn photos session, I just have to mention Miss B’s eyes! Typically in a newborn session, babies are asleep. This is partially because I make sure the little one is freshly fed, and that my studio is warm and toasty. And also partially because newborns do tend to sleep quite a bit in the first couple of weeks. But every so often the little one refuses to stay asleep for the entire session and I get a stunning shot like the one below. I seriously feel like Miss B is looking straight into my soul with that intense gaze!

For the most part, Miss B was sleeping soundly throughout her session. This meant I was able to capture closeups of her eyelashes (one of my go-to shots for newborns) and of her ten adorable little toes. These little details are so important to capture, little ones grow so quickly!

Styling For This North Shore Newborn Portrait Session

Sometimes parents choose to stick to one central color or color palette for their newborn’s portraits. Other times, numerous colors are chosen. There are so many benefits to both of these choices, and there is literally no wrong choice. For this newborn session, the choice of different colors was absolutely perfect. The light pink worked amazingly with the white fur, and especially with the floral headband. The light sage color was another great choice. My personal favorite color choice for this particular session was the deep burgundy lace. Not only is it an unexpected pop of color, but when combined with the pearl headband and the brown fur, it creates such a stunning combination.

Using Your North Shore Newborn Photos As Nursery Decor

One of my absolute favorite ways to display newborn portraits is as decor in nurseries. My own daughters are now seven, but they have more than a few portraits of themselves hanging in their room. They love getting to see pictures of themselves as babies and toddlers. I especially love this idea when there are props or accessories that your baby will also have in their room. A great example is the photo from this session with Baby B’s name spelled out around her. This would be perfect hanging in a nursery!

If you aren’t sure what size to get in a canvas or a framed portrait, I can help. Just send me a photo of the wall you’re looking to decorate, with a piece of printer paper taped to it. This way I’m able to get a good idea of the dimensions of the room. Then I can digitally add your photos to the wall.
