It was such a pleasure to meet this 5 day old brand new baby infant and her family. They drove up from south of Boston in Needham to my just north of the city studio. Baby N was a dream and remained dreaming for her entire photo session.
Sometimes I get requests to go to client’s homes for newborn sessions. I am always up for an adventure but I like to warn people that if it’s the photos they see in my newborn gallery on my site, then we need to stick to the studio. If I go to a home we can certainly capture lifestyle newborn portraits. They will include the home as a backdrop and there really isn’t an opportunity for those curled up naked, posed photos, really. Because there is nothing quite like a studio newborn photo session! So many factors like lighting, temperature, access to (approximately) 5 billion props go in to this very special type of portrait session. Besides, who really wants to worry about a clean house with a newborn baby at home? I know I certainly did not!
