Well, it’s the end of May and I’ve made it to the last of November 2011′s sessions! It’s a miracle! Not as much of a miracle as gorgeous baby girl L, I’ll give you that. You might recognize her older brother (last photo) from previous blog posts. I’ve been lucky enough to have him in front of my lens a few times. Baby L’s birth gave us the opportunity to snap some toddler photograph shots of S, now 2.5 (in these photos) as well as newborn photos of L herself. Check ‘em out!

This was my second year photographing this particular family’s fall portraits at the Boston Common. Check out their family portraits from last year to see how much the boys have changed! Namely, the youngest has the most gorgeous blond locks! We walked around the park and stopped for some great fall family portraits. We ended the session like last year at Acorn street for a few more iconic Boston shots. Enjoy!

One Year Old Portraits Boston :: Esplanade Family Photos

Meet baby girl E! Her parents are from England and had just recently moved to New York from a couple year stint in Boston (lots and lots of great locations to live!). They came back to Boston to celebrate baby E’s first birthday and get some one year old portraits taken of her. They wanted iconic Boston so we hit the Esplanade! It was refreshing. The Boston Common is certainly very popular, but I rarely shoot on the Esplanade so it was a treat for me. We had a blast walking around and playing in the leaves on this particular fall day. Check out gorgeous baby girl E. She has some lashes that just – won’t – quit! We started the session at Crabapple Photography studios with a light holiday theme. She was so sweet and precious! We did manage to get some big smiles and then move outside to a nearby park for some outdoor fall photos. Enjoy!

Up next on the blog: Aj’s 6 month baby portraits! (If you’re keeping track, I just shot AJ’s 1st birthday cake smash so I am officially 6 months behind. Don’t judge.) We started off his baby photo session at the studio in Medford and got some great smiley shots of AJ. We snuck in some absolutely heart melting Christmas baby photos before heading to the park to try and capture family photos outdoors. AJ might have been a *tad* sick of me at that point. Although you’ll notice in the last picture he’s got a big grin. SCORE! Sometimes all it takes is a fake sneeze / acting like a fool.

I think if I tell you one more time how much I love the light fall has to offer you’ll come through the screen and strangle me. BUT! This outdoor fall family portrait session is such a perfect example of the deliciousness that is fall. Oh, and the kids … so cute! I’ve been lucky enough to photograph each child separately before for their respective birthdays. It was great to see them again, and in these adorable outfits! The first shot absolutely melts my heart, hope it melts yours as well.

Happy May Day! Unfortunately it’s a bit rainy and yucky on this particular day here in the Boston area. HOORAY for leaf piles!! And HOORAY for autumn family portraits! Every season has it’s perks. Don’t tell summer, spring or winter (ok you can tell winter) – but autumn is my favorite season for it’s endless amount of perks. Gorgeous light, color and this little baby girl’s family session – a pile of newly fallen leaves to play in!

Such a smiley, fun little baby girl! We had a great mini session. I’m going to relish this summer, but these photos will make the end of summer bearable

These baby portraits were taken at a park in Medford in early November during a day of marathon outdoor mini sessions. Family fall portraits outdoors are just so fantastic. The light coming through the trees is absolutely delicious and full of so much color. Mix in an adorable fur vest, a cute baby and you have some great fall portraiture! Check out baby J below:

Meet baby girl E and her twin brother Q! I love my job because it keeps me on my toes. An 18 month old portrait client can be a (fun) challenge. A lot of running around but always well worth it. Now multiply that by 2! Twice the challenge, twice the fun and just as worth it I met up with this family at the Winchester Country Club for these outdoor family photos. The first two photos in this blog post are pretty accurate of the day. “OMG the baby’s are sitting AND next to each other!” Snap. And they’re off. In completely different directions. I applaud all parents of twins out there everywhere! I really enjoyed this session – the family, the setting and the results. Also really cool is these two were born July 31, 2010. Billerica Family Photos :: Outdoor Family Portraits

You might remember this set of three siblings from last year’s (I guess two autumns ago at this point!) family portrait session at Great Brook Farm State Park. Just as rambunctious, full of laughter, yells, hoots and hollers as the year before! And now with the youngest mobile there was a lot of running around. Absolutely perfect. One of my favorite family photos from the session occurred during our futile attempt to get a “posed” shot with the three kiddos and Mom. The posed setup quickly fell apart into a pig pile of laughter and in my opinion – a much better photo!

This session is also a great example of “what to wear to your photo session.” All three kids looked great on their own with sisters in their matching dresses. The sisters outfits matched big brother’s in color and style perfectly.

Walden pond at any time is gorgeous. The fall is an absolutely perfect time, however, to hit Walden pond for some outdoor family photos. Which is exactly what I did with 16 month old Bella and her family this past fall. Bella has the most mesmerizing gorgeous eyes (see below!). Mom and Dad brought along a basket of apples which were a hit. She was a bit weary to give out the smiles at times so props to Dad (and of course Mom helped!) for his running around like a wild man behind me to get the smiles. So worth it- she’s an absolute beauty and charmer!

Get ready for some fun outdoor family portraits! It may be April, but these photos conjure smells of autumn! Gorgeous fall light, leaves to play around in and sunshine to bask in. For this family portrait session we hit a nearby park in Medford, Massachusetts. Almost 2 years old, this toddler was a bit shy at first. But nothing a little swing through the air from Dad and some leaves to throw around couldn’t cure.

Although I’m somewhat ashamed to be a full 5 months behind on blogging, it’s kinda cool to revisit these sessions. The fall was so hectic and fantastically busy that time just flew by with barely a moment to breath. Looking back on this baby girl’s 1 year portraits makes me smile. She was a fabulous subject to photograph – smiley, engaged and cooperative! My favorite part of this baby girl’s baby portrait session was heading to a nearby park and grabbing some great photos using an antique pram that was my Grandmother’s. There is just nothing like fall light + foliage. Enjoy!

Outdoor Fall Family Photos :: Massachusetts Portraits

Back in October I headed to Connors Farm in Danvers, Massachusetts to meet up with this fantastic family of four. The Mom of this family happens to be the sister of a bride who’s wedding I shot a couple of years ago. I was able to meet the whole family, kiddos and all at the wedding. But what a difference the year plus in between the wedding, and this family portrait session makes! These two absolutely gorgeous kids were so much fun to photograph. Neither was what I would exactly call “shy” by any stretch! They were a blast as we did some apple picking and generally meandered around the beautiful apple orchid in Danvers. The sun was perfect and we were able to get some really fantastic outdoor fall family photos that I hope this family will enjoy for years to come.

1 year old portraits : Cake Smash Photo Session

In the beginning of last October (yes, October), I had the pleasure of photographing baby Mackenzie for the 3rd time. I was lucky enough to photograph her newborn photos and her 6 month professional portraits. This time I got to shoot her 1 year old portraits. What a difference a year makes! Mac is such an adorable little love bug. She was super smiley for us outside. When I look at these photos of her in the carriage I cannot help but laugh. She’s contagious! We were able to incorporate her pups into some outdoor family photographs we took as well. We ended the session with a bang – cake smash photos!! Mac wasn’t too into the whole thing but she looked darned cute anyway. I’ve since photographed her newborn baby girl sister .. coming up on the blog!

Boston Common Baby Portraits :: One Year Old Portraits

At the end of September this past fall, I hit the Boston Common for some one year old baby portraits. The common is such a fantastic location for family portraits. This particular family happened to lived nearby the park and will soon be leaving Boston. They wanted their family portraits to include the city – I can’t think of any better outdoor location! The day was gorgeous and really warm. They wanted their photos to have a “fall” feel but were basically sweating in their sweaters! Enjoy these sweet photos of this adorable one year old:

I last saw baby M and her family approximately 6 months prior to this fall family session for her professional photography debut. Check out her newborn portraits if you get the chance. For these family portraits we decided to meet up at the Boston Common in Boston, Massachusetts. It might be *well* photographed, but the Common really is such a gorgeous and iconic background for family portraits.

Baby M has grown! The first difference I noticed was her hair went from jet black to a light brown. She retained her adorableness though and has the most gorgeous blue eyes. I had fun chasing around her older sister and working hard to get sibling shots. It was a great day in the park. Enjoy!

Boston Common Photographer :: 10 Month Baby Old Baby A Portraits

Back in September I had the privilege of meeting up with Baby Alyvia, her Mom and her Dad at the Boston Common in Boston, Massachusetts. I’ve been photographing Alyvia since her birth, 10 months prior to this particular day. It’s always so amazing to see how fast tiny newborn babies turn into crawling, independent thinkers of their own. Alyvia was HYsterical on this particularly summery fall day. Reading her “Animals” book, crawling like a champ (which unfortunately translates into a lot of running for me), and well, eating dirt and sticks and anything she found that she felt like. Cause she could. Cause no matter how much we would tell her not to, what could we really do? Our mere words were no match for this feisty little 10 month old!
